PRAYING FOR LIFE AT THE FATIMA SHRINE
The International Secretariat of the World Apostolate of Fatima has assumed the recitation of the Holy Rosary, on each first Thursday of the month, in the Chapel of the Apparitions in Fatima, at 18.30 pm. The Rosary is offered for the intentions of our members and, in a particular way, for the respect of human life from conception to natural death.
The International Secretaries of the World Apostolate of Fatima, together with the Portuguese pro-life movement “Corrente de Oração pela Vida”, have decided to start praying the Rosary, once a month, in the Chapel of the Apparitions, at the Fatima Shrine, for life and peace. This initiative was born as a concrete way to show solidarity and involvement with the pro-life work that is carried out around the world and to link it to the Fatima Message, a message of peace, hope and love, so much needed for today’s world. This is a symbolic initiative that should help people to engage more often in praying the rosary for this intention and to bring the Fatima message to the prolife work. The daily Rosary at the Chapel of the Apparitions, at 18:30pm is broadcasted by the Portuguese national radio as well as by two Catholic TV channels. World Apostolate of Fatima prepares First Regional Congress for Europe
The World Apostolate of Fatima is organizing an International Congress for its Leaders and Members in Europe. It will take place in the Czech Republic, in the month of September 2010.
The First Regional Congress of the World Apostolate of Fatima for Europe will take place at the national centre of our Apostolate in Koclířov (near Svitavy, approx. 150 km East of Prague) in the Czech Republic, from the 24th to the 28th of September 2010. The main theme will be “The New Evangelization of Europe through the Message of Fatima”. This international meeting, organised by the International Vice-President Mr. Georges Inglin, from Switzerland, in collaboration with the WAF in Czech Republic, namely Ms. Hana Francakova (also International Board member), is inspired in the encyclical letter “Centesimus Annus” and will focus on how our movement can contribute for the New Evangelization of Europe, by living and promoting the Message of Fatima. Delegations from all over Europe will be attending this meeting and together with the International President, Prof. Americo Lopez-Ortiz, from Puerto Rico, the International Secretary, Dr. Celcio Dias, from India, and the International Secretariat from Fatima, will try to outline the Apostolate priorities for our work in Europe. The main language of the working sessions will be English. The program that will be soon released includes conferences, moments of prayer, workshops and a tour to Prague.
WORLDWIDE CHILDREN'S EUCHARISTIC HOLY HOUR
On October 1st, 2010, the first Friday of the month and Feast of St. Therese of Lisieux,the hearts of the Children of the World, will once again be spirituallyunited in prayerbefore the Most Blessed Sacrament, as they follow the Way of the Little Shepherds of Fatima into the Presence of the "Hidden Jesus.“
For the eighth year consecutive, the Children’s Eucharist Holy Hour will take place around the world. This initiative gathers millions of children before Jesus, truly Present in the Most Blessed Sacrament, to spiritually unite them in prayer to console the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus as taught by the Angel of Peace to the little Shepherds of Fatima, and to pray for the intentions of their own families and all the families of the world. Clergy, principals, teachers and parents will gather the children entrusted to their care before the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus in Cathedrals and in their own parish churches and chapels. Nigeria will host the II African Regional Meeting of the World Apostolate of Fatima
Nigeria will be the host country for the II African Regional Congress of the World Apostolate of Fatima. The meeting will be held in Abuja, capital of Nigeria, from October 6 to 10, 2010.
Following the Regional Congress in Cameroon, in April 2008, Nigeria will be home for the II World Apostolate of Fatima Regional Congress. Prof. Michael Ogunu, National President of our Apostolate in this country is working hard together with his collaborators to prepare the meeting, which will be embedded in the 2010 WAF National Rosary Congress, both under the theme: “The World Apostolate of Fatima in Africa and the New Evangelisation in the Light of the Synods on Africa”. This II African Regional Meeting will promote the growth of the Apostolate in the entire continent of Africa, as participants from many African countries, such as Cameroon, Ghana, Botswana, Lesotho, Kenya, Congo, Cote d’Ivoire, etc. are planning to attend the conference. Both events, the National Rosary Congress and the African Regional Conference will be an opportunity for witnessing the growth of the Apostolate in Nigeria – Africa’s most populous country and share experiences. The Papal Nuncio to Central African Republic and Chad, a long-year member of the World Apostolate of Fatima, will also be participating, as well as the International President, Prof. Americo Lopes-Ortiz and some observers from the Apostolate of Europe, Asia and the United States. The aim of the congress is to create ways and means of a more effective propagation of the Fatima Message in Africa, also buy hearing lessons from the experiences of WAF nations in other continents; to catch African young children for Our Lady of Fatima, to find new resources for the propagation of the Fatima Message in Africa by examining the nature and scope of foreign aid and to structure an on-going international cooperation among African WAF Nations. 5TH WORLWIDE PRAYER CONGRESS FOR LIFE IN ROME
The World Apostolate of Fatima sponsors the 5th Prayer Congress for Life, which will be held this year in Rome, on October 5-10, under the theme: "The Light shines in the darkness".
Once again, the World Apostolate of Fatima sponsors the pro-life organisation Human Life International to promote the 5th World Prayer Congress for life, which will take place in Rome, Italy, on October 5-10, under the theme "The Light shines in the darkness" (Jn 1, 5). This international meeting gathers every year people committed to the pro-life work in order to reflect on issues related to this theme and to foster a joint action based on prayer and respect for the values of the Gospel. The first prayer congress for life had been held at Fatima, in 2006 and was attended by more than 500 participants from around the world. In the following years, this congress took place in different Marian Shrines, such as Krakow, Poland (2007), Lourdes, France (2008), and Wigratzbad, Germany (2009).Many famous speakers will participate in this congress, among them the President of the Pontifical Council for the Family, H.E. Cardinal Ennio Antonelli, the President of the Pontifical Council for Health Pastoral Care, H.E. Archbishop Zygmunt Zimowski and the President of Human Life International, Fr.
