The International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima, which was entrusted to the World Apostolate of Fatima in 1947 to travel around the world, will begin an historic two-year journey across the USA, visiting more than 100 dioceses in 50 States. This initiative “Fatima Centennial U.S. Tour for Peace” begins on March 2016 to December 2017 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the apparitions of the Angel of Peace and the Blessed Mother at Fatima, Portugal.
The tour, sponsored by the World Apostolate of Fatima, USA, was launched from the National Blue Army Shrine, in the Diocese of Metuchen, NJ, precisely on March 21, the date chosen by the Fatima Shrine in Portugal to mark the anniversary of the Apparitions of the Angel.
The statue is to travel to parishes, schools, military chapels, and other venues along the tour, with programming to include Masses, confession, talks on Fatima, Holy Hours of Adoration, rosaries and private veneration. The goals are to allow Our Lady of Fatima to claim her dominion over America through her Immaculate Heart, and to bring the urgent Message of Fatima—the Peace Plan from Heaven—to a world in need. It also encourages devotion through personal consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, which was the mission given to Lucia by Our Lady and Our Lord.
