The World Apostolate of Fatima in South Korea is celebrating this year the 50th anniversary of its presence in the country. The festive occasion was solemnly marked with a celebration presided by the auxiliary bishop of Busan, Msgr. Joseph Son Sam-seok, last October 10th.
In an atmosphere of festivity and in thanksgiving to God for the presence of the WAF in the country, hundreds of members gathered to celebrate the Holy Mass and share the fruits of 50 years of an active Apostolate of Fatima in South Korea.
The World Apostolate of Fatima was introduced in South Korea by Msgr. Anton Trauner, a young German missionary who in 1964 brought the movement into the country as an instrument of evangelization and for the pursuit of peace. Msgr. Trauner has spent most of his life in the diocese of Busan where he still lives. He built the national centre of the WAF there and founded the religious congregation of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
